The Houston Texans fired head coach David Culley on Thursday after one season, during which the team had a 4-13 record.

General manager Nick Caserio said in a statement, “While a change after one season is unusual, we had philosophical differences over the long-term direction and vision for our program moving forward.”

Culley was in his first head coaching job after working as an NFL assistant since 1994.
