CHARLESTON, Ill. – A pair of former Eastern Illinois Panther football players will meet on the gridiron this weekend as the Arena Football League schedule hits week three with the Spokane Shock playing at the Iowa Barnstormers.

Terrence Sanders currently plays defensive back for the Shock while Mike Garrity is in his first season as a lineman for the Barnstormers.  Both teams are currently 2-0 on the season with Friday’s game scheduled for a 7 p.m. kick off at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Sanders is in his fifth season playing in the Arena Football League having developed into one of the top defensive backs/kick return specialists in the league.  Last season he was a first team All-Arena League selection at defensive back and a second team All-Arena League selection at kick returner.  He was named to the Arena League All-Ironman team after making 82.5 tackles with eight interceptions and 1,883 all-purpose yards.  Already this season Sanders has recorded nine tackles while averaging 20.8 yards per kick return with one touchdown.

Garrity is in his first season playing with Barnstormers after a free agent try-out with the Chicago Bears last spring.  Garrity has played in one game as an offensive lineman making one tackle on defense.
