The New England Patriots’ Julian Edelman, one of the NFL’s highest-profile Jewish players, Thursday addressed recent anti-Semitic posts by the Philadelphia Eagles’ Desean Jackson, for which Jackson apologized, saying in an Instagram video he hopes it can be a teaching moment for Jackson and others.

He said, “I know he said some ugly things, but I do see an opportunity to have a conversation.”

He also said he didn't want to distract from the Black Lives Matter movement, and offered to go with Jackson to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National Museum of African-American History and Culture.”
