Watt Could Return For Playoffs

The Houston Texans and J.J. Watt are said to be optimistic that he could return from a torn pectoral muscle in time for the playoffs. Watt suffered the injury in October and was expected to miss the rest of the season.


Schiano Returning To Rutgers

Coach Greg Schiano is returning to Rutgers. The university and Schiano reached a contract agreement a week after talks had reportedly broken down. The contract must be approved by the schools’ board of governors, who’ll meet tomorrow.


Number of College Coaches Out Of Work

A number of college football coaches found themselves out of work Sunday. Boston College fired coach Steve Addazio, South Florida cut Charlie Strong loose and Mississippi canned Matt Luke.


Top Four Teams Unchanged In College Poll

The top four teams in the Associated Press college football poll were unchanged from last week with LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia holding their spots. Utah moved up to the fifth spot, but the big news was Alabama dropping to No. 9 after their loss to Auburn. It snapped Alabama’s record streak of 68 straight appearances in the top five.
