The San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots remained perfect Sunday. For Patriots coach Bill Belichick it was his 300th win as a head coach and it came against the Cleveland Browns, the team Belichick got his first win with back in 1991.

 

Brees Surgery Successful

Drew Brees returned from thumb surgery Sunday and was more than ready as he passed for 373 yards and three TDs in the New Orleans Saints’ 31-9 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

 

Texans' Watt Done For Year

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt has confirmed that he’s done for the year after being injured in Sunday’s 27-24 win over the Oakland Raiders. Sources say that Watt tore his pectoral muscle.

 

Rams' Cooks Out Of Game

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks left Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals early in the first quarter after helmet-to-helmet contact. Cook went to the locker room for a concussion evaluation and didn’t return.

 

LSU Tigers Take Over Top Spot

There’s a new team atop the Associated Press college football poll as the LSU Tigers take the top spot over Alabama in one of the closest votes ever. The two teams will go head-to-head in two weeks. Ohio State, Clemson and Penn State round out the top five this week.
