Friday night, he was recognized for that induction as part of football pre-game ceremonies at Klosterman Field.

Following recognition of Unit 40 staff members chosen by members of the football team for that recognition, McDonald was presented by Unit 40 Activities Director David Woltman with an award signifying Coach Mac's induction.

Coach McDonald served as varsity coach for 25 seasons, following 10 years as an assistant. He came back to serve as freshman coach under Coach Brett Hefner, something Hefner said he greatly appreciates.
