Alabama is the new No. 1 in the Associated Press college football poll after Clemson’s close call at North Carolina dropped them to number-two. Georgia, Ohio State and LSU round out the top five in this week’s poll.


Rutgers Fires Coach Chris Ash

Rutgers has fired football coach Chris Ash after three-plus seasons. Tight ends coach Nunzio Campanile will serve as interim head coach the remainder of the season. Rutgers is 1-3 this season and went 8-32 under Ash.
