EHS Stands Seventh In Class 4A Football Poll

Effingham High School moved up in the Class 4A Asssociated Press Football Poll to seventh place heading into the playoffs this Saturday.

During the regular season, the Hearts beat Breese Mater Dei, 32-28; Lincoln, 46-7, Jerseyville Jersey, 34-28, Mahomet-Seymour, 49-7, Charleston, 35-14, Mattoon, 42-0 and Taylorville 48-6 before falling to Mount Zion, 37-23. EHS finished out the regular season with a 42-14 win over Freeburg for an 8-1 record.

EHS will play host to Breese Central this Saturday at 2 p.m.
