Jets' QB Darnold Has Mononucleosis

The New York Jets say starting quarterback Sam Darnold will miss multiple games with mononucleosis. Trevor Siemian will start Monday night against the Browns and, likely, Week 3 versus the Patriots. The Jets have a bye in Week 4.


Redskins' Guice Out 6-8 Weeks

Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice is likely out six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus. Guice also missed his entire rookie season last year after tearing the ACL in his left knee.


Jets' Beckham Accuses Browns

Odell Beckham Jr. says then-Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams told players to take him out in a 2017 pre-season game. Beckham left that game with a high ankle injury and says that coming back too soon led to his season-ending broken ankle. The Browns take on the New York Jets, who are now coached by Williams, on Monday night.


Nominees For Football HOF Announced

Nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2020 were announced Thursday. Among the first-time eligible candidates were Troy Polamalu, Patrick Willis and Maurice Jones-Drew. Inductees will be announced on February 1.
