Carolina's QB Injures Foot, Ankle

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton left Thursday night’s game against the New England Patriots following a first-quarter sack in which he injured his left foot and ankle. Newton later walked to the locker room and was placed in a walking boot and taken for X-rays.

New England claimed the victory over Carolina, 10-3


Oakland 22, Green Bay 21

The Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders played Thursday night’s preseason game in Winnipeg on an 80-yard field due to poor conditions. Because of that, the game was played without kickoffs and teams started at their own 15-yard line.


Patriots' Chung Indicted

New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung has been indicted in New Hampshire on cocaine possession charges. Chung owns a lakeside home there and was arrested for possession in June.


Cardinals Make Room For Crabtree

The Arizona Cardinals have signed wide receiver Michael Crabtree. Crabtree had 607 yards and three touchdowns in 16 starts last season for Baltimore. To make room on the roster, the Cardinals released former first-round pick Kevin White.
