EHS Football Players, Cheerleaders Honored

Varsity special award winners were, left to right, Dylan Bushur, Landon Wolfe, Stetson Green, Gage Franklin, Kendall Ballman, Jason Bowlin and Kaleb Kihne.

Effingham High School football players and cheerleaders were honored at a banquet Sunday afternoon.

Awards were presented to varsity football players. The Offensive Most Valuable Player award went to Landon Wolfe. Kendall Ballman claimed the Defensive Most Valuable Player, the Chris Hutts Bandit and the Special Teams Most Valuable Player awards.

Winning the George Wenthe Sportsmanship award was Dylan Bushur. Stetson Green claimed the Jack Klosterman "Hang Tough" award. Lineman of the Year went to Jason Bowlin and Kaleb Kihne. Varsity Most Improved was captured by Gage Franklin.

Lettermen were Chase Woomer, Noah Allen, Nathan Shackelford, Parker Wolfe, Kendall Ballman, Jack Matteson, Tristin Duncan, Nathan Thompson, Landon Wolfe, Dylan Bushur, Dawson Whitten, Luke Spencer, Logan Brown, Cameron Kalber, Logan Arend, Ethan Kiser, Shawn Cochran, Tommy Hortenstine, Jakob Logan, Payton Simmons, Bryce Ikemire, Mason Hasty, Beau Hefner, Kaleb Kihne, Gage Franklin, Jacob Stoneburner, Wyatt Smith, Ivan Angel, Alex Baughman, Joey Duncan, Reese Evans, Jason Bowlin, Hayvin Pratther, Marcus Hites, Justin Baker, Stiles Crowe, Stetson Green, Nathan Barnes, Ethan Huss, Evan Evans, Matthew Hites, Gunnar Frankliln, Jett Gillum, Jacob Briggerman, Holden Lewis, Kollin Waymoth and Austin Herboth.

Freshman/sophomore special award winners were, left to right, Chase Woomer, Jakob Logan, Trevon Benavides, Keegan Baker and Gunnar Franklin.

Winning Freshman/Sophomore football awards were Jakob Logan and Chase Woomer who were named the co-hustle award winners. Gunnar Franklin and Trevon Benavides shared the Most Improved award. Keegan Baker won the Little Big Man award.

Football cheer special award winners were, left to right, Destine Brown, Payton Koester and Alexus Baker.

Cheerleading awards were presented. Outstanding Football Cheerleader went to Payton Koester. Most Improved was claimed by Alexus Baker. Most Spirited went to Destinie Brown and the Leadership award was won by Payton Koester.

Letterwinners were Destinie Brown, Payton Koester, Tymber Jordan, Alexus Baker, Savanna Barnes, Katie Vahling, Jenna Koester, Lilly Flowers, Kaylee Thompson, Talia Coburn, Lani Nuebling, Skye Haycraft and Mia Burry.

Named All-Apollo Conference were, left to right, Landon Wolfe, Austin Herboth, Gage Franklin, Matthew Hites, Jason Bowlin, Kendall Ballman, Kaleb Kihne, Tristin Duncan and Mason Hasty.

Effingham High School seniors presented Coach Brett Hefner with a banner that says Play With The Heart Of A Champion.
