East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania University head football coach Denny Douds retired last Saturday.

While retiring before the end of a season is somewhat unusual, the 77-year-old Douds made it even more unique when he called a timeout with four seconds to go, told his team he was retiring and walked off the field. Counting his days as an assistant, Douds was with the university for 53 seasons and is the all-time leader in D-II football for games coached with 471.
