Those planning to attend the Effingham Hearts' second round football playoff game with Paris Saturday might be advised to get there early.

Gates will open at noon for the 2pm contest between the Hearts, on an eight-game winning streak, and the undefeated Tigers. There are reports that Tiger fans plan to head for Effingham at 10am Saturday.

Tickets for Saturday's game are $5, a price set by the IHSA. A reminder that passes are not valid for playoff games. Fans are encouraged to take along exact change for the game to help fans get through the gates more quickly.

Effingham Unit 40 Activity Director Dave Woltman has advised that the Effingham/Paris winner will play the winner of the Kankakee McNamara/Murphysboro game. If the Hearts win Saturday and Kankakee McNamara wins, the game would be played at Effingham. If the Hearts win and Murphysboro wins, the game would be played at Murphysboro.

Another reminder that this Saturday's Effingham/Paris game will be broadcast on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com. Our NASCAR race Saturday will be broadcast on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com at 3pm. That's a switch from usual because of another special broadcast Saturday at 3pm from Gabby Goat on 979XFM.
