Former Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson is calling it a career. Johnson was a third-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and cited back surgery as a reason for his retirement.

Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease known as Guillain-Barré syndrome. Frederick says he’s currently being treated and that he’s feeling better and the prognosis is good.

Urban Meyer will keep his job as football coach at Ohio State, although the school has suspended him for three games.

An investigation concluded that although Meyer didn’t condone or cover up the alleged domestic abuse by Zach Smith, he failed to take sufficient action regarding it.
