The Cleveland Browns selected Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield with the No. 1 overall selection in the NFL draft Thursday evening.

The Jets, Bills and Cardinals also selected quarterbacks with New York taking Sam Darnold of Southern California; Buffalo selecting Wyoming's Josh Allen and Arizona going with UCLA's Josh  Rosen.

A record was set as safety Terrell Edmunds and linebacker Tremaine Edmunrds of Virginia Tech became the first brothers to be taken in the first round of the draft.

Injured Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier made surprise appearance.  Shazier limped slowly onto the stage less than five months after a spine injury left him with the possibility of never walking again.
