Effingham High School senior Matthew Robinson has signed a letter of intent to play college football at North Central College in Naperville.

Robinson, who played on both the offensive and defensive lines for Effingham, will continue to play as a lineman. He plans to study Business at North Central.

Coach Brett Hefner said he thinks Robinson has a frame that can add weight. Hefner thinks in a couple of years we might not recognize Matt. He had high praise for Robinson in that he was one of the few Hearts this past season that continued to play both offense and defense. For his part, Robinson said it's the comraderie, the family atmosphere, that makes football special. He said he feels that atmosphere will continue at North Central. He said it was also important that past Hearts players have played, and are playing, at North Central. Current North Central players include EHS grads Drew Vasquez and Griffin Paige.
