Effingham Freshmen Blank M-S, 20-0

MAHOMET -- The Effingham High School freshmen football squad blanked Mahomet-Seymour 20-0 in action Thursday evening.

Drew Vasquez scored two touchdowns for the Hearts. Vasquez scored on a 10-yard run and then on a 45-yard run. Alex Howell scored the other touchdown on a 12-yard run. Vasquez had 15 carries for 246 yards. Howell had 13 carries for 39 yards. Alex Ramos carried the ball eight times for 28 yards.

Vasquez also led the Hearts in tackles with four solo tackles and five assists. Caleb Martin had four solo tackles and a fumble recovery. Joe Nieman had one solo tackle, five assists and a fumble recovery. Tucker Denton had two solo tackles and five assists.
