BMD Beats Effingham in Junior Varsity Football

Effingham edged out to a 6-2 opening quarter lead but ended up suffering a 22-14 loss to Breese Mater Dei in junior varsity football play Monday evening.

Nathan Shackelford connected on eight of 19 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Logan Brown had 11 carries for 89 yards. Dylan Bushur had four receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown while Tanner Loy had two receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Woelfer had two receptions for 16 yards.

Defensive leaders for the Hearts were Kaleb Kihne with 10 tackles, Tyler Marschewski with eight tackles, Jakob Conrad with six tackles and a sack and Kyle Phillips with five tackles and one interception.
