Drew Vasquez Signs With North Central

Effingham High School senior Drew Vasquez has signed a national letter of intent to attend and play football at North Central College in Naperville.

Vasquez played running back and in the defensive secondary during his career for the football Hearts. He said he has been recruited to play safety at North Central.

Drew told our Greg Sapp he was attracted by the North Central campus and its close proximity to the city. He also said he was made to feel part of the team during his visit to the campus. Here is their conversation...

Vasquez plans to study engineering at North Central.

Hearts Coach Brett Hefner said he considers Vasquez as good as any defensive back he has coached. Hefner thinks Vasquez will fit in well in what he considers a very good football program at North Central. Greg spoke with Coach Hefner during the signing ceremony...
