EHS Football Players Receive Apollo Conference Nods

Effingham High School's Griffin Paige and Drew Vasquez were honored with First Team selections to the All-Apollo Conference football team.

Griffin, a 6-foot, 190-pound senior, received the honor for linebacker while Vasquez, a 5-foot-8, 170-pound senior, earned the honor for free safety on defense.

Griffin also earned Second Team honors for offensive guard while Vasquez was named to the Second Team for running back.

The pair earned other honors as well. Vasquez was named to the IHSFCA All-State team while Paige earned IHSFCA Academic All-State honors.

Other EHS Second Team members were Frank Schneiderjon, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound sophomore, named at the end position on the defensive line.

Grant Wolfe, a 6-foot, 165-pound junior, took Second Team honors for defensive cornerback.

Ash Blunt, a 6-foot-2, 265-pound junior, was named at tackle on the offensive line.

Terrence Hill, a 5-foot-8, 160-pound sophomore, was named at running back.
