College Football Top 25

Alabama and Florida State are flipping spots in the newest edition of the Coaches Poll. The Crimson Tide are atop the rankings after rolling Western Carolina on Saturday.  Florida State is second after needing a late field goal to beat Boston College.

Oregon, Mississippi State, TCU, Baylor and Ohio State remained the same from three through seven. Ole Miss fell from eighth to 19th after losing to Arkansas. Michigan State, Georgia and UCLA all moved up in this week's poll to round out the top 10.

Oklahoma's Perine Breaks Single-Game Rushing Record

(Norman, OK) -- Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine broke the FBS single-game rushing record during Saturday's 44-7 win over Kansas. Perine carried the ball 34 times for 427 yards to break the record that was set by Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon just last week. Gordon rushed for 408 yards in a blowout win over Nebraska last Saturday. Perine also had five touchdowns in Saturday's victory. Prior to Perine and Gordon, LaDanian Tomlinson was the only other FBS running back to rush for more than 400 yards in a game. Tomlinson accomplished the feat in 1999.
