UCLA Crushes Arizona State, Illini At Nebraska Saturday

(Tempe, AZ) -- Number-10 UCLA used a rash of big plays to cruise past Arizona State, 62-27, in a Pac-12 matchup at Sun Devil Stadium. The Bruins fell behind 17-6 and then outscored the Sun Devils 56-10 the rest of the way. Ishmael Adams had a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown and a 100-yard kick-off return for a score.  Brett Hundley threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns, including connecting on two 80-yard TD's with Eldridge Massington and Jordan Payton.

UCLA is 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference. ASU outgained the Bruins 622-580, but four turnovers came back to haunt the Sun Devils. Mike Bercovici got the start at QB for the injured Taylor Kelly and tossed for 488 yards through the air with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Devils are 4-and-1 and 1-1.


Illinois At Nebraska Saturday

(Lincoln, NE) -- Illinois plays its Big Ten Conference opener tomorrow night at 19th-ranked Nebraska. Kickoff in Lincoln is set for 8 p.m. The Fighting Illini are 3-1 on the season after a 42-35 win over Texas State. The Huskers are 4-0 after beating the Miami Hurricanes 41-31 last Saturday.


College Football Roundup

Elsewhere in local college football tomorrow, Northwestern is on the road to open Big Ten play against Penn State.  Northern Illinois is home to open MAC play against Kent State.  Notre Dame is coming off a bye and takes a 3-and-0 record to play Syracuse at MetLife Stadium.
