Cowboys Storm Back, Hold Off Rams

(St. Louis, MO) -- The Cowboys erased an early 21-point deficit then held on late for a 34-31 win over the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome.  DeMarco Murray ran for 100 yards and a touchdown while Tony Romo threw for 217 yards with two scores and an interception. Dez Bryant finished with six catches for 89 yards and a TD while Bruce Carter intercepted a pass and returned it 25 yards for a score as Dallas improved to 2-1. Austin Davis was 30-of-42 for 327 yards with three touchdowns and two picks for St. Louis. Jared Cook made seven grabs for 75 yards while Zac Stacy ran for 67 yards in defeat  The Rams fell to 1-2.


Bears Face Jets On "MNF"

(East Rutherford, NJ) -- A pair of 1-and-1 teams coming off vastly different Week Two results meet as the Chicago Bears play the New York Jets on "Monday Night Football" at MetLife Stadium. The Bears overcame a 17-0 second-quarter deficit, scoring 21 fourth-quarter points to rally past the 49ers 28-20 last Sunday night. Chicago capitalized on four San Francisco turnovers, with Jay Cutler throwing three of his four touchdown passes to Brandon Marshall. Chicago lost 23-20 to the Bills in overtime in Week One. The Jets, meanwhile, squandered a 21-3 second-quarter lead and lost 31-24 to the Packers in Green Bay.  Quarterback Geno Smith threw one touchdown pass and also ran for a score in defeat. The Jets opened the season with a 19-14 home win over the Raiders.


Seahawks Win Super Bowl Rematch With Broncos

(Seattle, WA) -- Marshawn Lynch scored on a six-yard run in overtime lifting the Seahawks to a 26-20 win against the Broncos in a Super Bowl rematch at CenturyLink Field. Denver fell behind 17-5, but unlike in last season's finale did not fold storming back with 17 points in the fourth quarter to extend the game. Lynch piled up 88 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns, the second a reception from Russell Wilson. Wilson finished 24-of-34 for 258 yards with two TDs and an interception.  Seattle is 2-1. Peyton Manning found Jacob Tamme in the end zone from 26 yards out to tie the game at 20 with 18 seconds left. Julius Thomas hauled in his fifth TD reception in three games and Emmanuel Sanders had 11 grabs for 149 yards. Manning also threw an interception with his 303 yards through the air. It was Denver's first loss of the season.


Eagles Outgun Redskins In NFC East Shootout

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Nick Foles threw for 325 yards with three touchdowns as the Eagles withstood the Redskins 37-34 at Lincoln Financial Field. Jeremy Maclin had eight catches for 154 yards and a touchdown while Jordan Matthews made eight grabs for 59 yards and two scores. LeSean McCoy had 19 carries for just 22 yards. Chris Polk took a kickoff back 102 yards for a score as Philadelphia improved to 3-0. DeSean Jackson returned to Philadelphia and made five catches for 117 yards and a touchdown for Washington. Pierre Garcon made 11 grabs for 138 yards and a score while Kirk Cousins threw for 427 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Alfred Morris ran for 77 yards as the 'Skins fell to 1-2.


Giants Roll Past Texans For First Win

(East Rutherford, NJ) -- Rashad Jennings rumbled for 176 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries as the Giants thumped the Texans 30-17 at MetLife Stadium.  Eli Manning was 21-of-28 for 234 yards and two touchdowns as New York moved to 1-2. Victor Cruz had five grabs for 107 yards and a score in the victory.  Ryan Fitzpatrick was intercepted three times and finished with 289 passing yards and a touchdown through the air and on the ground. Alfred Blue started in place of the injured Arian Foster and ran for 78 yards on 13 carries. DeAndre Hopkins had six catches for 116 yards as Houston dipped to 2-1.


Saints Shut Down Vikings, Get First Win

(New Orleans, LA) -- Drew Brees threw for 293 yards with two touchdowns as the Saints picked up their first win by downing the Vikings 20-9 at the Superdome.  Brandin Cooks had eight catches for 74 yards while Josh Hill and Marques Colston hauled in TD grabs. Khiry Robinson ran for 69 yards and Pierre Thomas found the end zone on the ground as New Orleans moved to 1-2. Matt Cassel was just 5-of-10 for 53 yards before leaving with a foot injury. Rookie Teddy Bridgewater stepped in and threw for 150 yards along with adding 27 on the ground. Greg Jennings made five catches for 70 yards but Minnesota managed just 247 total yards falling to 1-2.


Bengals Blow Away Titans

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Giovani Bernard ran for 47 yards and two touchdowns as the Bengals roared past the Titans 33-7 at Paul Brown Stadium.  Andy Dalton threw for 169 yards with an interception but also caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Mohamed Sanu [[ suh-NOO ]].  A.J. Green had six catches for 102 yards as Cincinnati moved to 3-and-0.  Jake Locker was 17-of-34 for 185 yards and two interceptions for Tennessee.  Bishop Sankey ran for 61 yards on ten carries while Shonn Greene found the endzone for the Titans' lone score.  Tennessee is now 1-and-2 on the year.


Tucker Powers Ravens Past Browns

(Cleveland, OH) -- Justin Tucker drilled a 32-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Ravens in a 23-21 win over the Browns from FirstEnergy Stadium.  Rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro [[ tal-uh-FARE-oh ]] ran for 91 yards and a touchdown while Steve Smith had five catches for 101 yards for Baltimore. Joe Flacco threw for 217 yards with an interception and a TD pass to Kyle Juszczyk as the Ravens improved to 2-1. Isaiah Crowell ran for 55 yards and a touchdown while Terrance West added 36 yards and a TD for Cleveland. Brian Hoyer threw for 290 yards and a touchdown to Miles Austin as the Browns fell to 1-2.


Lions Slide Past Packers

(Detroit, MI) -- The Lions withstood three turnovers from Matthew Stafford to get past the Packers 19-7 at Ford Field. Stafford had 246 yards passing and two interceptions while also losing a fumble. Reggie Bush ran for 61 yards and a touchdown while Don Carey returned a fumble 40 yards for a score as Detroit improved to 2-1. Aaron Rodgers was held to 162 yards and a touchdown for Green Bay while James Starks and Eddie Lacy combined for just 74 yards on the ground. Andrew Quarless had 43 yards and a touchdown receiving as the Packers fell to 1-2.


Colts Cruise Past Jaguars For First Win

(Jacksonville, FL) -- Andrew Luck was 31-of-39 for 370 yards and four touchdowns as the Colts blew away the Jaguars 44-17 at EverBank Field. Luck hit nine different receivers with passes and tossed scores to Hakeem Nicks, Coby Fleener, Dwayne Allen and Ahmad Bradshaw. Greg Toler also took an interception back 47 yards for a TD as Indianapolis moved to 1-2. Chad Henne was 4-of-7 for 33 yards before being replaced by rookie Blake Bortles, who finished 14-of-24 for 223 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for Jacksonville.  Allen Hurns and Cecil Shorts each had touchdown grabs for the Jags, who fell to 0-3.


Patriots Slug Past Raiders

(Foxboro, MA) -- Vince Wilfork intercepted Derek Carr with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter to clinch the Patriots' 16-9 win against the Raiders at Gillette Stadium. The play before, Darren McFadden scored what looked like the game-tying touchdown, but it was nullified due to a holding penalty. The only touchdown of the game came on a six-yard pass from Tom Brady to Rob Gronkowski for New England, which improved to 2-1. Brady finished with 234 yards. Carr's interception was the only turnover of the game. Sebastian Janikowski drilled all three field goals he attempted, accounting for all of Oakland's points.


Chargers Light Up Bills

(Orchard Park, NY) -- The Bills' feel-good story was slowed down as the Chargers marched into Ralph Wilson Stadium earning a 22-10 victory. Philip Rivers helped San Diego build off their huge win against the Seahawks in Week Two, throwing for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Eddie Royal caught both. Donald Brown became the main ball carrier with Ryan Mathews hurt, grinding out 62 yards on 31 carries. The Bolts are 2-1. EJ Manuel didn't turn the ball over, but was only able to lead Buffalo to one offensive touchdown. Manuel connected with running back Fred Jackson on an 11-yard score. Eleven penalties for 101 yards hurt the Bills, who fell to 2-1.


Cardinals Stay Perfect, Down 49ers

(Glendale, AZ) -- It was a tale of two halves as the Cardinals finally were able to beat the division rival 49ers, 23-14, at University of Phoenix Stadium.  Coming out of halftime trailing 14-6, Drew Stanton found John Brown twice in the end zone to help Arizona improve to 3-0. For a second straight week filling in for the injured Carson Palmer at QB, Stanton did not commit a turnover. Michael Floyd hauled in five catches for 114 yards, while Andre Ellington piled up 75 total yards. San Francisco earned its first half lead with a six-yard score from Carlos Hyde and Michael Crabtree's touchdown reception. Frank Gore was held to 10 yards on six carries and quarterback Colin Kaepernick led the team in rushing with 54 yards. The 49ers fell to 1-2.


Chiefs Crush Dolphins

(Miami, FL) -- Alex Smith tossed for 186 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs rolled the Dolphins 34-15 from Sun Life Stadium. Knile Davis continued to cruise in place of Jamaal Charles, who was out due to injury. Davis rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries for Kansas City, which improved to 1-2. Joe McKnight had six catches for 64 yards and a pair of TDs in the win. Ryan Tannehill had 205 yards and a touchdown for Miami, which slipped to 1-2. Lamar Miller rushed for 108 yards on 15 carries in defeat. Brian Hartline hauled in the only TD for the 'Fins.


Steelers Pound Panthers

(Charlotte, NC) -- The Steelers marched into Charlotte and ran all over the Panthers on their way to a 37-19 victory on "Sunday Night Football."  Le'Veon Bell contributed 147 yards on 21 carries including an 81-yard gash and LeGarrette Blount piled up 118 yards and a touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger found Antonio Brown twice in the end zone during the third quarter to help Pittsburgh pull ahead 23-6. The Steelers sit at 2-1. Carolina lost two fumbles, one by Philly Brown on a punt return that turned into a Robert Golden special teams TD. Cam Newton completed 24-of-35 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown. Rookie Kelvin Benjamin hauled in eight catches for 115 yards and was on the receiving end of a TD pass from Derek Anderson late in the fourth quarter.
