BMD Claims JV Football Win Over EHS

Breese Mater Dei claimed a 24-6 victory over Effingham Monday night in junior varsity football.

Breese scored in the first quarter and twice in the second to take a 24-0 halftime lead. After a scoreless third quarter, Effingham finally scored with about two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter on a three yard run by Lane Koenig. The Hearts were led in tackles by Pettycourt with nine.

The Hearts did force three fumbles in the second half. Those recovering fumbles were Herron, McGregor and Kistler

Effingham JV returns to action Saturday hosting Mascoutah.
