Bradford Out For Season

(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Rams will be without quarterback Sam Bradford this season. The signal-caller tore the ACL in his left knee in Saturday's preseason win over the Browns. It's the same ligament Bradford tore last season that caused him to miss nine games.

He was playing in just his second preseason game since the injury. The Rams will go with Shaun Hill at quarterback, but are reportedly looking into trade options as well.

The Rams rolled Cleveland 33-14 Saturday behind two touchdown passes by Austin Davis. Davis went 14-for-22 for 198 yards in the win and Trey Watts found the endzone on the ground. Chris Givens led all receivers with 94 yards on two catches with a TD and Alec Ogletree grabbed an interception. The Rams have one more tune-up Thursday against Miami before the season begins.

Bears Cut Players

Former Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson was among nine cuts for the Bears Sunday. The team also parted ways with running back Michael Ford, wide receivers Greg Herd and Kofi Hughes and linemen Joe Long and Dylan Gandy. The Bears must cut six more players by Tuesday.

With three preseason games in the rear-view mirror, the Bears are almost ready for games that count.  Chicago will face the Browns on the road this Thursday to close the preseason slate. Final roster cuts will be made Saturday afternoon, when teams must be at 53 players.

Bengals Hold Cardinals

(Glendale, AZ) -- The Bengals pulled out a 19-13 win over the Cardinals in Glendale for their third preseason game last night. Terence Newman picked off Carson Palmer for a 54-yard touchdown in the opening quarter. Andy Dalton hit on 13-of-21 attempts for 157 yards, but didn't record a touchdown or interception. Giovani Bernard wasn't able to get going as he was held to 17 yards on 10 carries. Rookie running back Jeremy Hill had more success, compiling 12 carries and 48 yards.  Cincinnati wraps up the preseason hosting the Colts on Thursday.

Bengals owner Mike Brown was not able to attend yesterday's preseason game against the Cardinals in Glendale as planned. Brown had a minor medical issue, but according to a release from the team everything is fine. He was expected to fly back to Cincinnati.

49ers Roll Chargers

(Santa Clara, CA) -- The 49ers pulled out a 21-7 over the Chargers in their third preseason game yesterday at Levi's Stadium. Blaine Gabbert threw a touchdown to Vance McDonald in the win and Phil Dawson was 2-for-2 on field goals. Glenn Winston rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown. The team battles Houston on Thursday in the preseason finale.
