The Little Hearts Football Camp starts on Monday, July 7 for any boy entering third through eighth grade.

The goal is to learn and practice the fundamentals of passing, running, kicking, form blocking, form tackling, and weight lifting. This is a non-contact camp. Some time will also be spent watching game and highlight film.

The camp will meet from Monday, July 7 through Thursday, July 10 from 9am to noon each day. Meet at the Effingham High School football field. Meet on the football bleachers. Pick up will be at the high school on the field or by the tunnel.

The cost is $40, which covers your camp T-shirt, a football, daily games, prizes, awards and a watermelon feast.

Campers should wear shorts, a T-shirt, white socks and cleats and should take along a water jug and sunscreen. Indoor facilities will not be available due to resurfacing of the gym floors.

Hearts varsity football coach Mike McDonald is the camp director, and he'll be assisted by the EHS football staff and players.

Registration will still be accepted at the football complex Monday morning starting at 8:30am. Coach McDonald has asked that anyone who has not registered their child to phone his home phone if they plan to attend the camp and have not registered. Coach Mac's home phone number is 347-0125. Please leave your child's name and a phone number. They will be able to fill out the registration forms on Monday morning.
