Altamont, Dieterich Nab Cross Country Wins

DIETERICH -- Altamont claimed a high school boys win while Dieterich was the girls winner in cross country competition Monday.

In the boys meet, the Indians won with 22 points followed by Dieterich with 35. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City had runners competing but not enough for a team score.

Altamont swept the top four spots as Derick Budde won in 16:08 followed by Aden McManaway second in 16:15, Corey Jackson third in 16:51 and Jerod Ruffner fourth in 17:18. The other scorer was Matthew Becker 14th in 19:20.

CHBC's Jackson Sarver finished fifth in 17:30.

Dieterich then took the next four spots as Jack Bloemer finished sixth in 17:39 followed by Gabe Jackson in 17:45, Kaden Iffert in 18:10 and Wyatte Brummer in 18:16. Cole Will was the fifth scorer in 11th in 18:29.

In the girls meet, Dieterich was the winner with 29 points followed by CHBC with 40. Altamont did not have enough for a team score.

CHBC's Sydney Lorton was the winner in 19:24. Altamont's Taylor Mette took second in 20:28.

Scoring for Dieterich were Kaitlyn Boerngen third in 20:39, Adrianna Gordon fourth in 20:52, Cortney Brummer sixth in 21:02, Emily Bloemer ninth in 24:43 and McKenna French 10th in 24:48.
