St. Anthony Girls Win Junior High C.C. Sectional

BEMENT -- Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School claimed the Bement Sectional N Girls Cross Country Meet Tuesday.

The Bullpups tallied 21 followed by Okaw Valley 57 and Sigel St. Michael 58.

St. Anthony's Nora Trupiano was the individual champion with a time of 12:37.10. Also scoring for the Bullpups were Mollie Slifer third in 13:30.17, Gianna Frisbee fourth in 14:03.25, Taylor Miller sixth in 14:21.85 and Addie Krouse eighth in 14:42.65.

In the boys meet, Bement won with 32 points followed by St. Anthony 55, Okaw Valley 74, Cowdne-Herrick/Beecher City 96, Central A&M 132 and Sigel St. Michael 138.

Will Fuson of Bement claimed the individual title with a time of 12:06.05.

Scoring for St. Anthony were Vincent Vogel third in 12:21.12, Noah Flaig fourth in 12:25.28, Ryan Schmidt 15th in 13:14.25, Lane Frost 16th in 13:21.75 and Keenan Griffith 17th in 13:22.55.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's top finisher was Aiden Wallace sixth in 12:26.64.
