Junior High Cross Country -- Oct. 3

NEWTON -- Marshall Junior High School captured first place in the Little Illini Conference Cross Country Meet in both boys and girls action Monday at Sam Parr State Park.

Marshall won the boys meet with 50 points followed by Robinson 46, Jasper County 81, Cumberland 83, Casey-Westfield 159 and Paris Mayo 160.

Cumberland's Rayce Zike was the individual champion with a time of 11:44.

In the girls race, Marshall won with 38 points followed by Casey-Westfield 62, Cumberland 65, Jasper County 118 and Paris Mayo 126.

Cumberland's Jasmyn Dittamore captured the top spot with a time of 12:39.
