SHELBYVILLE -- Monticello captured first place in the Shelbyville Junior High Boys Cross Country Trail Invitational Saturday with 58 points.

Following the leader were Shelbyville 64, Teutopolis 72, Robinson 79, Mattoon 86, St. Anthony/Sacred Heart 167, Newton 172, Cumberland 254 and Lutheran School Association 255.

Winning the individual title was Robinson's Gordon Pinkston in 11:26. T-town's Christian Deters took fourth in 11:52. St. Anthony's Clayton Helmink was 19th in 13:08.
