The top-seeded Bulldogs defeated the Windsor Blue Devile 56-39 and the Indians won over the St. Elmo/Brownstown Eagles 53-45.

St. Anthony led the entire contest aside from a brief early two-point Windsor lead.  The Bulldogs were up 12-6 after one quarter, led 29-19 at halftime and were ahead 39-27 after three quarters before outscoring the Blue Devils 17-12 in the final period.

St. Anthony made 44% of the shots, hitting 23 of 52 including two of 10 three-point attempts.  The Bulldogs made eight of 11 foul shots, grabbed a whopping 38 rebounds and turned the ball over 14 times.

The Neoga/SEB game was too close to call for a majority of the contest.

Neoga came out of the gate well, leading 20-13 after the first quarter, but then the baskets got harder to come by.  Neoga's lead was 29-23 at halftime.  The Indians had a good third quarter, though, outscoring SEB 13-8 to lead 42-31 at the end of the period.  Consecutive three-pointers by the Eagles quickly trimmed that lead to five points to start the fourth quarter and the battle was on. The Eagles actually outscored the Indians 14-11 in the final period, but Neoga held on for the eight-point win with good rebounding and some clutch foul shooting.

Neoga made 40% of its shots from the field, 21 of 52 although just two of 12 three-point tries.  The Indians made just eight of 16 from the line but grabbed 28 rebounds and turned the ball over just 11 times in the game.

SEB hit 14 of 36 from the field for 36% including five of 13 threes.  The Eagles made 12 of 19 from the line, but pulled just 16 rebounds and turned the ball over 18 times.

Jake Baker led Neoga with 22 points and 11 rebounds.  Also for the Indians: Wyatt Krikie with 10, Jon Atwell eight, Corey Kersey six, Brock Aleshire four, and Luke Baker three.

Jacob Behrends led SEB with 14 points while Landon Feezel and Malachi Maxey each scored 12 points.  Also for the Eagles: Levi Maxey five and Cole Smithson two.

Neoga improved to 9-11 on the season, while St. Elmo/Brownstown fell to 12-8.

On Thursday, SEB will play Windsor in a consolation bracket semifinal at 6:15pm, followed by a championship bracket semifinal game between St. Anthony and Neoga.

Tonight at Altamont, second-seeded Altamont will play Stewardson-Strasburg at 6:15pm, followed by Dieterich vs. Beecher City.  Hear both games on 979XFM and hear and view the games on www.979xfm.com.
