Effingham St. Anthony and Altamont moved into the championship game of the Class 2A St. Anthony Boys Basketball Regional with victories Monday evening.

St. Anthony opened the evening with a forfeit victory over Oblong.

In the second contest, Altamont edged St. Elmo/Brownstown 29-26.

St. Anthony and Altamont will now meet for the regional title at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Class 7-1A Windsor Regional

Windsor claimed a 23-19 victory over Stewardson-Strasburg in the Class 7-1A Windsor Boys Basketball Regional Monday evening.

The host squad broke a 7-7 opening quarter tie with a 6-0 second period run. Stew-Stras came back in the final quarter, outscoring Windsor 10-6 but couldn't make up that second quarter deficit.

Beck and LeCrone tallied six points each for the winners. Stew-Stras was led by Miller with five. Stew-Stras ends the season with a 5-16 record.

In the second contest of the evening, Cowden-Herrick claimed a 38-31 victory over Pana Sacred Heart.

Windsor and Cowden-Herrick meet for the regional championship Thursday at 7 p.m.

Class 7-3A Marshall Regional

Marshall advanced to the title contest of its own regional Monday evening by downing Casey-Westfield 53-27.

In the second contest, Red Hill (Bridgeport) won over Robinson Nuttall 46-35.

Marshall now meets Red Hill at 6 p.m. Thursday for the championship.

 

Class 7-4A Charleston Regional

The regional games scheduled on the IESA website for Monday evening were pushed to tonight.

Charleston will meet Champaign Jefferson at 6 p.m. followed by Champaign Edison against Tolono Unity at 7:15 p.m. The winners advance to meet Effingham at 6 p.m. and Mattoon at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
