No. 9 Villanova Holds Off Georgetown

(Washington, DC) -- James Bell scored 16 points as ninth-ranked Villanova held off Georgetown 65-60 at the Verizon Center in DC. JayVaughn Pinkston and Daniel Ochefu both added 12 points for the Wildcats, who improved to 18-2 on the season and 7-1 in the Big East. 'Nova is at Temple on Saturday.


No. 16 Duke Handles No. 17 Pitt

(Pittsburgh, PA  -- Jabari Parker posted 21 points and 11 rebounds as number-16 Duke took care of 17th-ranked Pittsburgh 80-65 from the Petersen Events Center.  Andre Dawkins added 20 points off the bench for the Blue Devils while Amile Jefferson put up 14 points and 10 boards. Duke improved to 17-4 with a 6-and-2 mark in the ACC. Lamar Patterson led Pitt with 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. Talib Zanna added 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Panthers suffered their second ACC loss, falling to 6-2. Pittsburgh is now 18-3 overall this year.


Illinois Off Until Saturday

(Champaign, IL) -- Illinois has some time before getting back on the court. After beating Indiana on Sunday, the Fighting Illini will return to action Saturday at home against 12th-ranked Iowa. Illinois is now 13-8 with a 2-6 Big Ten mark. The Hawkeyes play tonight against Michigan State.


Finalists For NCAA Final Fours Announced For 2017-2020

(Indianapolis, IN) -- The finalists to host the Men's Final Four in 2017-2020 have been announced. The eight finalists for the Men's Final Four are Atlanta, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, New Orleans, North Texas, Phoenix/Glendale, San Antonio and St. Louis. The seven cities being considered for the Women's Final Four are Columbus, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. The winners will be announced in November along with the preliminary rounds for the 2016-18 men's basketball tournaments.
