Illinois Falls Short Against Indiana

(Bloomington, IN) -- Rayvonte Rice poured in 20 points but Illinois came up short in a 56-46 loss at Indiana Sunday. The Fighting Illini shot just 33-percent from the field in falling to 13-8 with a 2-6 record in Big Ten play. The Illini host Iowa next Saturday.

 

College Basketball Roundup

A number of local teams were on the college hardwood Saturday. Northwestern suffered a 76-50 loss at home to Iowa while Notre Dame went on the road and fell 65-58 at Wake Forest. UIC suffered a 76-75 loss at Oakland while Northern Illinois was a 75-67 loser at home to Buffalo.


Arizona Remains Unbeaten

(Tucson, AZ) -- Nick Johnson posted 22 points as top-ranked Arizona notched a 65-56 win over Utah last night at the McKale Center. Brandon Ashley added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats, who remain undefeated at 20-0. U-of-A travels to Stanford on Wednesday.


Bearcats Sneak Past Temple

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Cincinnati had a little bit more trouble than expected, but still pulled out an 80-76 win over Temple yesterday at the Liacouras Center. Sean Kilpatrick went off for 29 points and eight rebounds to help the Bearcats improve to 8-0 in the AAC in 19-2 overall. They square off with Louisville on Thursday.


Memphis Dumps South Florida

(Memphis, TN) -- Memphis cruised past South Florida yesterday, 80-58, behind 13 points and 10 rebounds from Shaq Goodwin at the FedExForum. Chris Crawford paced the Tigers with 15 points as they improved to 15-4 overall and 5-2 in the AAC. Memphis is at Central Florida on Wednesday.
