Wooden Shoes Lose Third Place Game at Nashville

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes came up short in the third place game of the Nashville Invitational Tournament, falling to Waterloo Gibault 51-45 Saturday night.

The Shoes trailed 14-10 after one quarter, but were down just 25-23 at halftime.  Teutopolis had it tied 33-33 after three quarters, but Gibault outscored the Shoes 18-13 in the final quarter to claim the win.

Reed Hardiek led Teutopolis with 11 points, while Bobby Wenthe and Brett Mette each scored 10 points.  Michael Drees and Brock Mette each scored six points, and Tyler Gebben scored two points.

In the championship game, Breese Central defeated Breese Mater Dei 49-38. In the consolation championship, Nashville won over Freeburg 67-61. The seventh-place contest went to Trenton Wesclin over Mascoutah 64-63.
