Kansas Holds Off ISU In Ames

(Ames, IA) -- Naadir Tharpe had 23 points and six rebounds to lead 18th-ranked Kansas in a 77-70 win over number-10 Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum. Freshman Andrew Wiggins posted 17 points with 19 rebounds while Joel Embiid added 16 points and nine boards for the Jayhawks. KU improved to 12-4 and is the only unbeaten team in Big 12 play at 3-0. DeAndre Kane led the way for the Cyclones with 21 points and eight rebounds while Dustin Hogue added 13 points and nine boards. Melvin Ejim chipped in 15 points for ISU, which has lost two straight contests after starting the year 14-0.


Syracuse Picks Up Victory

In college basketball, Syracuse completed a 69-59 win over Boston College.

Illinois Hosts Purdue Wednesday

(Champaign, IL) -- Illinois welcomes the Purdue Boilermakers to the State Farm Center Wednesday night for a Big Ten clash. Illinois sits at 13-4 on the year after falling to Northwestern Sunday. The Illini have a 2-2 Big Ten mark. Purdue is 11-5 with a 1-2 conference record this year.

 

College Basketball Preview

DePaul takes the court tonight at Allstate Arena against St. John's. The Blue Demons are 9-8 this season. Wednesday night, Northwestern hosts Michigan State, Notre Dame is on the road at Maryland and Northern Illinois faces Kent State. UIC faces Milwaukee Thursday.
