Newton Posts Two Wins at Dieterich Boys Tournament Thursday

The Newton Eagles posted two wins during first day action at the Dieterich Boys Holiday Tournament.

Newton won over Red Hill 60-44 and downed Beecher City 61-21.

In the win over Red Hill, Luke Stone and Brock Mammoser combined for 45 points, 25 for Stone, 20 for Mammoser.  Also for Newton: Caleb Chesnut eight, Mitch Jansen three, and Corey Workman and Luke Huston two each.

In the win over Beecher City, Stone and Chesnut teamed up for 41 points, 23 for Stone and 18 for Chesnut.  Also for Newton: Mammoser eight, Workman five, Gunner Pickens four, and Noah Dart three.  For Beecher City: Austin Rexroad seven, Brady Barnes four, Jackson Bales four, Brandon Gardner two, Jacob Kenter two, and Austin Shelton and Daniel Harder one each.

Newton will play at Dieterich today at 5:30pm against Oblong.
