Altamont High School will be playing for the consolation championship at the Okaw Valley Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.
Altamont opened the day Monday with a 49-36 win over Tri-County. Altamont took the early lead and led 25-15 at halftime. M. Ohnesorge tallied 16 and Tillman 13 for the Indians. That advanced the Indians to a meeting with Chrisman.
The Indians claimed a 45-35 victory over Chrisman to advance to the consy title game.. Chrisman held a 13-9 opening quarter lead but Altamont came back to knot the score at 19-19 at halftime. The Indians then had a 15-8 third quarter run. M. Ohnesorge led the way with 20 points while Wendling tallied 13.
In other games Monday, Okaw Valley defeated Mount Pulaski 55-11, Heyworth won over Shelbyville/Stewardson-Strasburg 65-38, Chrisman downed Decatur LSA 56-39, Heyworth defeated Okaw Valley 49-33, Sullivan won over Blue Ridge 59-41 and Clinton beat Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hamond 52-42.
Iin Saturday play, Altamont opens the day against Heyworth at 4:30 p.m. for the consy championship followed by Blue Ridge facing Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 6 p.m. for third place and Sullivan against Clinton at 7:30 p.m. for the championship.
