EJHS, St. A, St. Michael, T-town Claim Two Junior High Boys Wins, Area Roundup

Effingham St. Anthony nabbed two victories in junior high boys basketball competition Tuesday evening.

The Bullpups defeated Beecher City in the seventh-grade contest 49-13. Blanchette led 11 players in scoring with 10 points. Milleville and Wortman chipped in with nine each. The Bullpups are still unbeatn at 8-0.

In a seventh-grade contest Monday, St. Anthony beat Jasper County 58-22.

In the eighth-grade game, St. Anthony bounced Beecher City 62-14. Parker Seachrest led the way with 16 points while Chris Heuerman added 12. Beecher City was led by Kaleb Doty with five.

At Effingham

Effingham picked up two victories over Salem Franklin Park. In the seventh-grade contest, the Mustangs won 52-14.

Landon Wolfe tallied 26 points and Zach Lee chipped in with 11. The Mustangs improve to 9-0 on the season.

In the eighth-grade game, the Mustangs edged Salem Franklin Park 43-39. The Mustangs took a 19-15 halftime lead then had a 14-6 third period run. Hull tallied 19 points and pulled down five rebounds while Bryce Lohman had five rebounds. The Mustangs are now 8-1.

Effingham will head to St. Anthony Thursday.

Sigel St. Michael handed Effingham Sacred Heart two losses. St. Michael was a 51-19 winner in seventh-grade play.

Ini the eighth-grade contest, St. Michael won 56-23. Kreke tallied 18 and Wolke 13 for the winners. The Shamrocks were led by C. Helmink with 11.

Teutopolis claimed two wins over Marshall. T-town was a 39-31 winner in seventh-grade action. Dawson Smith tallied 21 points for the winners. Heffner led Marshall with 10.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town won 55-31. Lee Hardiek scored 16 and Collin Funneman 11 for T-town. Boyer led Marshall with nine.
