Girls area eighth-grade regionals continued Tuesday evening around the area. Here are the results:
Class 8-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Effingham Sacred Heart and Sigel St. Michael advanced to the championship game of the St. Michael Regional with victories Tuesday evening.
St. Michael handed Cisne a 43-14 loss in the opening contest.
In the second game, Sacred Heart downed Dieterich 27-20. Dieterich was led by Anna Shadle with 10 and Cassie Vahling with five.
The two winners meet Thursday at 7 p.m. for the championship.
Class 2A South Central Regional
Effingham St. Anthony opened the evening with a 25-21 win over Neoga. In the second contest, South Central pounded Palestine 32-12.
St. Anthony now faces Brownstown/St. Elmo at 6 p.m. Thursday while South Central will face Oblong at 7:15 p.m.
Class 2-A Nokomis Regional
Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor saw its season come to an end in the Nokomis Regional Tuesday evening.
Host Nokomis handed Stew-Stras/Windsor a 28-10 loss. Nokomis took a 12-0 first quarter lead and led 14-0 at halftime. Stew-Stras/Windsor finally scored two points in the third quarter.
Lohman led Nokomis with 14 points. Schlechte led Stew-Stras/Windsor with three. Stew-Stras/Windsor finished at 4-18.

Class 8-3A Edwards County (Albion) Regional
Jasper County picked up a victory in the Albion Regional Tuesday evening.
Jasper County won over Robinson Nuttall 31-20. In the second contest, Lawrenceville Parkview downed Edwards County (Albion) 25-19.
Jasper County and Lawrenceville Parkview face each other Thursday for the regional championship at 6 p.m.
Class 8-3A Altamont Regional
Altamont and Teutopolis will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. for the regional title after picking up wins Tuesday evening.
Altamont opened the evening with a 29-14 win over Cumberland. Cumberland held a 5-4 opening quarter lead but Altamont came back to lead 12-8 at halftime then outscored Cumberland 17-6 in the second half.
Stone led the winners with 10 points. Cumberland was led by Guyon with six points.
In the second contest, T-town defeated Paris Mayo 28-17. Paris Mayo led 11-10 at halftime but T-town came back with a 5-2 third period run and outdistanced Paris Mayo 13-4 in the final quarter.
Marianna Hemmen tallied 13 and Macy Michels 11 for the winners. T-town improves to 11-12.

Class 4A Charleston Regional
Effingham saw its season come to a close Tuesday evening. The Mustangs fell to Charleston 46-29.
Charleston jumped out to a 29-14 halftime lead. Swango tallied 19, Coffeey 12 and H. Griffin 11 for the winners. Effingham was led by Myers with 12 and Armstrong with 10. The Mustangs end the season with a 19-3 record.
In the opening contest, Mattoon won over Champaign Jefferson 40-35. Mattoon takes on Charlesston at 6 p.m. Thursday for the championship.
