Effingham St. Anthony downed Vandalia in both seventh and eighth grade boys basketball action Tuesday evening.
The Bullpups won the seventh-grade contest 41-23 to remain unbeaten at 6-0 on the season. Vandalia drops to 4-4. Blanchette led St. Anthony with 18 points.
In eighth-grade play, St. Anthony claimed a 38-33 win. Alex Beesley led the Bullpups with 12 points while Greg Utz tallied 10.
The Bullpups are also unbeaten with a 6-0 mark.

At Mattoon
Effingham traveled to Mattoon for a seventh-grade B game and fell 17-6. The Mustangs won the eighth-grade B game 51-9.
"Our shooting was as cold as the weather outside," said EJHS Coach Mike Walker. "We went three for 24 from the field. Our effort on defense was outstanding but not enough to earn a victory."
Effingham is now 1-1 on the season and returns to action Monday hosting Dieterich. The contest was originally scheduled to be played at Dieterich but due a scheduling conflict, the game has been moved to Effingham with a 6 p.m. start.
In eighth-grade play, the Mustangs took a 27-4 halftime lead and never looked back to improve to 1-0. Vasquez and Devore tallied 13 points each while Morrissey added 11.

At Effingham
Windsor came calling at Effingham Sacred Heart and captured two victories. Windsor won the seventh-grade encounter 31-14. Bennett led 10 players in scoring with eight points. Rogers led the Shamrocks with seven.
In eighth-grade action, Windsor was a 41-25 winner. B. Bennett scored 13 for the winners. C. Helmink led Sacred Heart with 11.

Cowden-Herrick and Stewardson-Strasburg split victories. Cowden-Herrick won the seventh-grade game 36-25. Miller led the winners with 14 points. Stew-Stras was led by A. Burton with 15.
Stew-Stras drops to 1-3 in the National Trail Conference, 2-6 overall.
In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras won 54-19. Kessler scored 17, Hansen 12 and Thies 10 for the winners. Barfield led Cowden-Herrick with nine. Stew-Stras improves to 4-0 in the conference, 7-1 overall.

Teutopolis defeated Robinson in both seventh and eighth grade play. T-town won over Robinson 36-23 in seventh-grade play.
Dawson Smith tallied 15 to lead the winners.
In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 54-38 winner. T-town surged ahead 29-19 at halftime and 42-27 going into the final quarter.
Lee Hardiek tallied 21 and Collin Funneman 10 for the winners.
