Jon Ekey scored 19 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Illinois Fighting Illini captured a 77-53 win over the Chicago State Cougars in non-conference play at the State Farm Center Friday night.

It was a seven-point game at halftime before the Illini outscored the Cougars 44-27 after intermission.

Luol Deng missed from deep on a three-point attempt as time expired as the Bulls fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 98-95 at the Moda Center.

Chicago guard Derrick Rose left the game in the third quarter with a right knee injury and couldn't put weight on that leg.  Rose missed all of last season after needing surgery on his left knee.

The Bulls are 6-5.
