Mavs Rally To Beat Rockets

(Dallas, TX)  --  Monta Ellis poured in a game-high 37 points as the Mavericks erased a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to beat the Rockets 123-120 at the American Airlines Center.  Dirk Nowitzki dropped in 35 points and moved into 15th place on the NBA scoring list for the Mavs, who outscored the Rockets by 17 points in the final quarter en route to their third straight win. Shawn Marion and Jose Calderon chipped in 13 points apiece in the victory. Nowitzki on passing Reggie Miller on the NBA scoring list.

Dwight Howard posted 33 points and 11 rebounds for Houston, which had won its previous three. Chandler Parsons posted 21 points and 11 assists and James Harden had 23 points and eight helpers in the setback.

 

Pacers Slip Past Knicks

(New York, NY) -- Paul George poured in a game-high 35 points, including 13 of Indiana's final 16 points, as the Pacers slipped past the Knicks 103-96 in overtime at Madison Square Garden.  George made three free throws with 5.2-seconds left in regulation to force OT. George Hill added 23 points and eight boards, while David West posted 10 points and as many rebounds for the Pacers, who bounced back from their first loss in Chicago on Saturday and improved to 10-1 on the year. Pacers head coach Frank Vogel says this was an example of a great team win.

Carmelo Anthony racked up 30 points and 18 rebounds for the Knicks, who fell to 3-8 with their fourth straight loss. J.R. Smith scored 21 points and Beno Udrih added 19 in defeat.

 

Bobcats Beat Nets

(Charlotte, NC) -- Kemba Walker scored a game-high 31 points to pace the Bobcats to a 95-91 win over the Nets at Time Warner Cable Arena. Ramon Sessions and Gerald Henderson each contributed 13 points for Charlotte, which snapped a two-game slide. Andray Blatche had a team-best 25 points off the bench in defeat. Joe Johnson chipped in with 19 points for Brooklyn, which dropped its third straight.

 

Wizards Whip Cavaliers

(Cleveland, OH) -- Bradley Beal posted 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as the Wizards slammed the Cavaliers 98-91 from Quicken Loans Arena.  Nene tallied 24 points and eight rebounds for Washington, which improved to 4-7. John Wall helped out with 15 points and nine assists in the win. Kyrie Irving registered 28 points and six assists for Cleveland, which slipped to 4-8. C.J. Miles got the start but a leg injury paved the way for Dion Waiter's 11 points. Anderson Varejao had 14 points and 11 rebounds off the bench in defeat.

 

DeRozan Leads Raptors Past Sixers

(Philadelphia, PA) -- DeMar DeRozan poured in a game-high 33 points to lead the Raptors to a 108-98 win over the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center. Rudy Gay scored 18 points and Terrence Ross had 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench for Toronto, which snapped a brief two-game skid and improved to 5-7.  Kyle Lowry recorded 13 points and 10 assists in the victory. Spencer Hawes finished 10-of-13 for 28 points and also grabbed 10 boards for the Sixers, who fell to 5-and-8 with their fourth straight loss. Evan Turner tallied 13 points, 10 boards and five assists in the setback.

 

Hawks Handle Pistons

(Atlanta, GA)  --  Paul Millsap posted 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting to guide the Hawks to a 93-85 win over the Pistons at Philips Arena.  Jeff Teague helped out with 18 points and seven assists for Atlanta, which has won three of its last four.  DeMarre Carroll added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Hawks.  Brandon Jennings tallied 21 points, seven boards and six assists for Detroit, which has alternated wins and losses over their last four games.  Rodney Stuckey added 18 points off the bench in defeat.  Andre Drummond totaled 10 points and 12 caroms for the Pistons.  Josh Smith had 11 points and six rebounds against his former team.

 

Clippers Nip Timberwolves

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Chris Paul filled the stat sheet with 20 points and 11 assists to power the Clippers to a 102-98 win over the Timberwolves at the Target Center. He added six rebounds and four steals for Los Angeles, which has won five-of-six. Blake Griffin added 20 points and 10 boards for the Clippers.  Kevin Love scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds but finished two assists shy of a triple-double in defeat. Kevin Martin tallied 28 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota, which has lost three of its last four.

 

Blazers Beat Bucks

(Milwaukee, WI) -- LaMarcus Aldridge scored a game-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds as the Trail Blazers beat the Bucks 91-82 from the Bradley Center. Damian Lillard chipped in with 19 points and six caroms for Portland, which has won eight in-a-row. Wesley Matthews tallied 15 points for the Blazers. Luke Ridnour had a team-best 13 points for Milwaukee, which has lost six straight. Gary Neal had 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting off the bench in defeat.

 

Pelicans Beat Struggling Jazz

(New Orleans, LA) -- Anthony Davis finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and eight blocks as the Pelicans beat the struggling Jazz 105-98 at New Orleans Arena. Ryan Anderson added 19 points off the bench and Jrue Holiday scored 14 for the Pelicans, who have won two in-a-row after a three-game skid. Tyreke Evans chipped in with 13 points in the victory. Enes Kanter notched 19 points and nine boards for Utah, which fell to 1-12. Derrick Favors posted 13 points and 11 boards in defeat. Trey Burke scored 11 points off the bench in his NBA debut.

 

Spurs Sink Celtics

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tony Parker led six Spurs in double-figures with 19 points as they defeated the Celtics 104-93 at the AT&T Center. Kawhi Leonard tallied 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals for San Antonio, which has won eight straight to improve to 10-1. Tim Duncan helped out with 13 points and nine boards in the win. Jared Sullinger totaled 19 points and 17 rebounds for Boston, which has lost five in-a-row to drop to 4-9. Avery Bradley and Jeff Green also scored 19 points each for the Celtics.

 

Kings Sweep Home-And-Home With Suns

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Isaiah Thomas scored 23 points and DeMarcus Cousins had 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Kings beat the Suns 113-106 to sweep the home-and-home series at US Airways Center. Greivis Vasquez added 13 points, six assists and five rebounds for Sacramento, which has won two in-a-row for the first time this season. Goran Dragic scored a season-high 31 points for the Suns, who have dropped four straight. Gerald Green chipped in with 23 points in defeat.

 

Grizzlies Top Warriors In OT

(Oakland, CA) -- Zach Randolph posted 21 points and 12 rebounds to help the Grizzlies maul the Warriors 88-81 in overtime from ORACLE Arena.  Marc Gasol hit a pair of free throws with two minutes to play, and the game stayed tied at 75 until the start of OT. Gasol ended with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Mike Conley had 19 points for Memphis, which has won four in-a-row.  Klay Thompson scored 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting in defeat. Andrew Bogut tallied 12 points and 14 rebounds for Golden State, which had its four-game win streak stopped.

 

Heat Hammer Magic

(Orlando, FL) -- LeBron James led a balanced effort with 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds as the Heat hammered the Magic 120-92 in the first end of a home-and-home series at Amway Center. Arron Afflalo netted a game-high 30 points for the Magic, who have dropped five of their last six. Victor Oladipo posted 20 points in the setback. The teams meet again on Saturday in Miami.

 

Bulls' Butler Week-To-Week

(Denver, CO) -- Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler is week-to-week with turf toe on his big right toe. He did not make the trip to Denver for tonight's game against the Nuggets. It's the first contest of a six-game road trip for the Bulls. Butler is averaging 11.2 points and nearly five rebounds per game this season.
