St. Anthony Wins Stew-Stras Boys Tourney Title

STRASBURG -- Effingham St. Anthony captured the Stewardson-Strasburg Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament championship Saturday.

St. Anthony won its opener over St. Elmo/Brownstown 44-15. Ludwig tallied 14 for the winners.

St. Elmo/Brownstown then downed Stewardson-Strasburg 39-33. Jesgarz tallied 17 and Tabbert 11 for Stew-Stras. St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Aderman with 16 and Philpot with 11.

In the championship game, St. Anthony beat St. Elmo/Brownstown 44-15 with a 14-5 opening quarter lead. Blanchette tallied 17 for the winners. Aderman and Philpot led St. Elmo/Brownstown with five each.

In the third place contest, Ramsey edged Stew-Stras 25-20. Seaton led the winners with 11. A. Burton led Stew-Stras with 15.
