NBA Season Begins Tonight

The NBA regular season begins tonight. The Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic have the first tipoff of the year at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Miami Heat will raise their championship banner an hour later before hosting the Chicago Bulls on TNT. Bulls guard Derrick Rose will play in the regular season for the first time since April 2012. In the nightcap, the Los Angeles Lakers start the year without their star. Guard Kobe Bryant is still out while recovering from a torn Achilles. The Lakers are the home team against their STAPLES Center co-tenants, the Clippers. A full slate of 14 games gets underway on Wednesday night. New Orleans will play its first game as the Pelicans against the Pacers. Dwight Howard is one of many new faces in new places. He and the Houston Rockets host the Charlotte Bobcats. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett make their player debuts for Brooklyn while Jason Kidd makes his Nets coaching debut against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
