Sacred Heart, Altamont Win Girls Basketball Games

Effingham Sacred Heart opened the junior high girls basketball season with two victories over Dieterich Thursday evening.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest 31-15 then claimed the eighth-grade game, 22-20.

At Altamont

Altamont claimed seventh and eighth grade victories over Brownstown/St. Elmo. In seventh-grade play, Altamont was a 38-12 winner to improve to 2-0. Katie Grimsley tallied 12 points and Tinley Mette 10.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont edged Brownstown/St. Elmo 26-23. Jacie Hosick and Hanna Wolff had seven points each.
