Boys Basketball

St. Anthony 62, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 47 (The Bulldogs led start-to-finish, but never could shake the Hatchets. St. Anthony played a stellar first quarter and took a 22-12 lead. The Hatchets pulled within 35-28 by halftime and were still within 47-38 after three quarters, but the Bulldogs were able to maintain the lead with some late foul shots pushing the final margin to 15 points. St. Anthony 59% from the field, 22 of 37, including 4 of 10 threes. They also made 14 of 18 foul shots, grabbed 26 rebounds, and turned the ball over just nine times. Windsor/Stew-Stras shot 40%, 17 of 43, including 6 of 17 threes. The Hatchets made 7 of 8 free throws, but had just 13 rebounds. They also had just nine turnovers. Brock Fearday scored 24 points to pace St. Anthony, while Collin Westendorf scored 15 points and Ryan Schmidt 11 points. Also for St. Anthony: Max Koenig 8, and Griffin Sehy and Michael Martelli 2 each. Austin Wittenberg and Carter Chaney each scored 11 points for the Hatchets while Jackson Gurgel added 10 points. Also for the Hatchets: Jordan Wittenberg 8, Dylan Curry 5, and Talon Bridges 2. St. Anthony improved to 15-7 on the season, while Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 16-6). In the junior varsity game, St. Anthony won 59-26. Scoring big for the Bulldogs were Nick Ruholl and Aidan Lauritzen with 11 each. Leading Windsor/Stew-Stras was Connor Manhart with 12.

St. Elmo/Brownstown 88, Mulberry Grove 49 (SEB led 31-11 after one quarter on the way to a 39-point win; the Eagles shot 52% from the field and had a 35-20 rebounding edge; SEB turned the ball over just eight times; Jarrett Pasley led all scorers with 27 points for SEB, while Adam Atwood scored 14, Cade Schaub 13, and Caleb Campbell 11; SEB improved to 14-5 on the season)

South Central 60, Cowden Herrick/Beecher City 40 (the Cougars led 17-7 after one quarter and 36-14 at halftime; Aiden Dodson led South Central with 26 points while Evan Watwood scored 17 points; Radloff with 12 points and Lorton with 10 points led CHBC; South Central improved to 15-6 on the campaign)
