Maroons Down OPH In Girls Basketball

OBLONG -- Dieterich handed Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville a 61-40 loss in a girls non-conference basketball contest Tuesday evening.

The Movin' Maroons edged out to a 19-13 opening quarter lead as Kaitlyn Boerngen knocked in seven points and four other players scored.

Dieterich held a 30-20 halftime lead. The Maroons got on a scoring binge in the third period with a 21-7 tally. Estella Meinhart, Boerngen and Cortney Brummer scored five each in the quarter.

Three players hit double digits for the Maroons. C. Brummer led the way with 14 points while Boerngen added 12 and Madelyn Brummer 10.

In junior varsity action, Dieterich picked up a 32-19 win. Kady Tegeler led Dieterich with 10 points.
