Louisville Wins NCAA Tournament

(Atlanta, GA) -- Top-seeded Louisville defeated fourth-seeded Michigan 82-76 in the national championship game in Atlanta. It's Louisville's third national title and first since 1986. Luke Hancock scored 22 points off the bench to lead the Cardinals, who finish their season 35-5. Trey Burke had 24 points to pace Michigan, which ends its season at 31-8.


Pitino, Payton Highlight 2013 Basketball Hall Class

(Atlanta, GA) -- Louisville head coach Rick Pitino and former NBA star Gary Payton highlight this year's class for induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.  They are joined in the Class of 2013 by Jerry Tarkanian, Guy Lewis, Bernard King, Dawn Staley and Sylvia Hatchell.  Enshrinement ceremonies are set for September in Springfield, Massachusetts.


NBA Returns After Day Off

The NBA returns tonight following a day of rest Monday. There are 10 games on the slate tonight, including a potential playoff matchup out West. The Utah Jazz host the Oklahoma City Thunder. Utah is half a game up on the Lakers for the eight and final postseason spot in the Western Conference. Oklahoma City is a game back of San Antonio for the top spot.

 

T'wolves Love To Have Knee Surgery

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is going to have season-ending left knee surgery. Love will have an arthroscopic procedure done to remove a buildup of scar tissue in his knee. Recovery time is typically between four-and-six weeks. Love has been limited to just 18 games this season.
