Teutopolis tallied two victories over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high girls basketball Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest 40-5, taking a 24-0 first half lead.

Anna Probst had 10 points to lead the Shoes. T-town improved to 3-1.

St. Anthony was led by M. Hoene with two points.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town ripped out to a 15-4 opening quarter lead and tallied a 40-14 win.

Chloe Probst had 12 points for the winners who improve to 1-2.

St .Anthony was led by K. Kabbes with five points.

At Taylorville

Effingham scored a seventh-grade victory over Taylorville in Thursday competition.

The Mustangs ran off to a 15-3 opening quarter lead and downed Taylorville, 44-10.

Mapes scored 14 points for the winners.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael was a winner over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Thursday.

The Sharpshooters won the seventh-grade encounter, 41-22 by stepping out to a 20-2 opening quarter lead.

Hatton talied 13 and Ruholl 10 for the winners.

CHBC was led by Madison Dawson with 14. The squad dropped to 4-4 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, St. Michael scored a 40-19 win, leading 20-11 at halftime then outscoring CHBC 16-2 in the third period.

Ruholl led the way with 11 points while Will added 10 for the winners.

CHBC was led by Macee Rodman with six points. The Bobcats dropped to 4-4.
